The O2 Academy Brixton
Did you know that before becoming one of London’s top music venues the O2 Academy was a cinema? Known as the Astoria, it opened in 1929 screening an Al Jolson musical and carried on all the way to the 1970s.
Still featuring its proscenium arch and beautiful architectural detailing, the Academy is worth a wander around!
Here’s your chance to be shown around backstage by someone who knows the building back to front, and to see a hidden piece of Brixton’s rich history.
The venue is accessible but some of the tour will involve steps.
Tube/Train: Brixton. Buses: 2, 3, 35, 45, 59, 133, 159, 333, 415, P4; stop: Brixton
Sorry, but this event is fully booked. Why not look for another one to come to
